What DPI should I use?
300 DPI for close-view photo prints; 150–200 DPI can be fine for large wall pieces. See also the DPI calculator.
Print viewing distance
Large prints hung farther away tolerate lower PPI. A hallway piece viewed from three meters can look excellent near 150–200 PPI, while a portfolio print inspected at arm’s length benefits from ~300 PPI. Soft-proof and order small tests when color or paper surface is unfamiliar.
